Two years after co-founding his enterprise Sulys, things have come full circle for Louis-Philippe Noel.
He is back where it all started at the Univeristy of Laval in Quebec City to inspire students about the journey AquaHacking unlocked for him and his team.
With AquaHacking’s mentorship, Louis-Philippe and his team carried this vision forward. That support helped turn an early concept into a viable solution, and eventually into a real company.
At the 2024 AquaHacking Challenge grand finale in Rouyn-Noranda, this vision was acknowledged, and Sulys' winning pitch earned them $20,000 in seed funding. The award was the result of ten months of intense work with AquaHacking mentors, turning an idea into a workable solution.

Sulys winning first place at the AquaHacking 2025 Quebec Finals in Rouyn-Noranda.
Now, Louis-Philippe is giving back. On January 29, alongside the AquaAction team, he returned to where it all began at Université Laval to speak with students about how AquaHacking changed his life and gave him the opportunity to create real, lasting change.
Talk about a full circle moment!
As an ambassador of the program, he is helping inspire the next generation of innovators to take that very same leap.

This is what student-driven innovation looks like. Alumni giving back. Ideas becoming real. Action for waterways that need it most.
